He established Maguires in 1996 where he has led the brand development of Glasgow: Scotland with style and Babcock Rail, amongst many other clients.
As Managing and Creative Director of Maguires, Nick is a specialist in building clients' brands. His background of brand development and implementation combined with a strategic approach, cutting edge creativity and outstanding skills in whip cracking brings strength and depth to the Maguires team.
Diane has over ten years marketing and account management experience and has worked with clients including: Scottish Water, Highlands and Islands Enterprise, NHSU brand marketing in London, First Engineering, the independent education sector and Glasgow: Scotland with style.
Part of the Maguires team for over seven years, her specialist skills are in project planning, project management and client liaison, with a little copywriting thrown in for good measure. Her tireless hounding of colleagues and clients ensures projects always adhere to agreed deadlines.
Stephen has worked for Maguires for over twelve years, responsible for the company's financial management and control. He also heads up project estimating, budget control, procurement and print and production management on behalf of our clients and is experienced in project management working specifically on large scale projects phased over monthly and yearly time scales.
Stephen is notoriously tough when negotiating with our pool of suppliers on behalf of clients and prides himself on dispelling all typical accountant stereotypes.
Nicola joined Maguires in 2004, from a reputable printing firm where she had been employed as an account handler for Clyde Property, Golden Charter and Arnold Clark. Nicola is involved across our portfolio of clients as she is responsible for media and client liaison, managing media schedules, studio trafficking, distribution of electronic artwork, proofing and finance and administration support.
She is experienced in using Microsoft Office, Adfast, Applemac Quark and Illustrator and SAGE. Nicola thrives under stressful situations and always keeps a clear head... until the weekend.
Margaret has been the cornerstone of Maguires since its humble beginnings in 1996 and alongside Nicola is in charge of the ever busy switchboard, distribution of electronic artwork and administration, as well as lending a hand with her world famous proofing skills.
Aside from all this she also acts as a terrific agony aunt for colleagues and clients alike, and is ever willing to share recipe ideas and beauty tips whilst looking after 4 young grandchildren...now that's impressive!
Alan has been responsible for producing design and artwork for over 17 years, working with Barkers Scotland before joining Maguires nine years ago. He has extensive experience in branding projects and design implementation including a wide range of materials promoting Glasgow as a destination.
He is an expert in the full creative suite of industry standard applications, especially Photoshop and is skilled at working accurately to tight timescales. A systems man, Alan has been involved in the technical growth of our Applemac studio to the state-of-the-art creative hotbed that it currently is.
Garry has over twelve years experience of design and finished artwork and has been an integral member of the Maguires team for nine years. Familiar with tight deadlines and working under pressure, Garry effectively develops creative solutions to a wide range of design challenges ranging from corporate and brand identity design to advertising and large format/outdoor media.
He is an expert in all industry-standard design applications including InDesign, QuarkXpress, Photoshop, Illustrator, and web design software. His creativity often branches into the development of 'interesting' headlines and his one-liners are world renowned.
Chris has been with the company for five years, with over eight years experience in various disciplines within the design industry. Although having extensive experience in fields including sound production and visual graphics and regularly being involved in design for print projects, his particular area of expertise is motion graphics and web design using such applications as Flash and Dreamweaver.
Our resident technical expert, Chris is comfortably able to discuss multimedia projects on a 'techie' level with clients' specialist personnel as required, but fortunately is also able to explain some of the more complex and mysterious issues associated with multimedia projects in layman's terms to bewildered clients (and colleagues).
He originally graduated in 2000 with an undergraduate degree in Human Resource Management, subsequently working in this field for a number of years before deciding to take a gap year and travel round the world. Upon returning from the gap year, he returned to University for a one year post-graduate course in IT. Nicky works closely with Chris and Paul on web development and multi media projects, and specialises in programming and content management development.
Nobody really knows what Paul actually does. Professionally he is an expert in the design and production of interactive electronic multimedia installations (wha?), but also designs for other media including print and sound. Ultimately he is an old-school multimedia artist guy thing.
Although able to program the 6809E chipset in assembler, he chose to study Fine Art at Glasgow School of Art. While there he came in contact with Macintosh computers for the first time and soon realised that he seemed to be the only person who knew how to use them. He was commissioned to set up the Electronic Media Studio at the Art School and worked there for 2 years, before becoming a 26-year-old Senior Lecturer at the University of Plymouth. He moved to London 2 years later and became involved in the multimedia/web 1.0 revolution, working with many award-winning companies and in various partnerships. 8 years later he's back in Glasgow (now fully matured like a fine wine, and married with kids) at Maguires as well as working with other interesting creative companies. The gun in the photograph is real, BTW...
